Generous Glasswells Help St Elizabeth Spread the Word
Glasswells home furnishing store based on the outskirts of Ipswich has been dedicated to raising money for St Elizabeth Hospice since they first opened their doors in December 2008 and this year has been no exception.
For the last 10 months, the aim has been to raise enough money to supply the hospice with a portable display banner that cleverly incorporates a high definition LED screen. The display would be used by the Hospice to help educate people about the life-changing services they provide to those with a progressive illness and their families.
Through in-store events, a car boot sale, cake sale and a penny jar in the staff canteen to raise the final £80, the Glasswells team manage to raise £900 which covered the full cost of the display. The innovative display stand known as the dBanner was provided at a reduced price by Ipswich based company, Sales Media Evolution.
St Elizabeth Hospice’s work is centred around an individual's needs, which means specialist support wherever it is required, whether at home, in the community or at the Hospice. They help people deal with problems such as pain, anxiety and fatigue, as well as offer practical advice and family support. They are an independent charity which provides services free of charge and have a service cost of £6.6 million a year, with almost three quarters of that figure coming from the local community.
St Elizabeth Hospice is extremely grateful to all the hard work Glasswells staff have dedicated to raising the money for the display stand and can now confidently spread the word about the services and help St Elizabeth Hospice can provide to those with progressive illness and their families.
