Glasswells Staff are Quizzed in the Name of Charity
Staff from the Glasswells home furnishings stores across East Anglia donned their thinking caps for an evening of fun and some serious thinking in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.
In teams of four, staff from the Bury, Ipswich, Haverhill and Saffron Walden stores, in addition to the storage and distribution centre in Kempson Way Bury, joined together in the spacious Place to Eat restaurant. Each team contributed £25 for the privilege and with 17 teams competition was fierce.
With questions galore written by Glasswells Operations Director Robert Hawkins, subjects ranged from music, celebrities, food, sport plus an observation round. The leader board constantly changed with teams competing not only to win the champagne prize but to be crowned the ‘Glasswells Charity Quiz Winners 2011’. The winning team was from the accounts department.
During the evening all proceeds from drinks and a raffle with generous prizes were also donated to the charity, Robert Hawkins adds, “This is the sixth year we have run the charity quiz and I am pleased that it’s remaining a popular and fun event for all and an event that raises more money each year. We are so pleased to be able to announce the grand total raised on the evening was £775, an amazing amount thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of the entire Glasswells team.”
