Glasswells staff back Accumulator Challenge

Glasswells staff back the Accumulator Challenge With money-making ventures across the store.

Staff at Glasswells have been getting behind the Towergate Accumulator Challenge, as they attempt to ensure their team comes out top in the three-month challenge.

Glasswells is one of 49 firms taking part in the challenge, in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care, where businesses battle it out to turn a £50 stake into as much money for the charity as possible.

The store's gift department is holding a raffle to win a Kipling city bag, worth £98, with staff and customers rushing to snap up tickets. Entry costs £1 and the draw will be made on 30 September.

Meanwhile, staff in the gift, linens, cookware and lighting departments are baking cakes each week to sell to other members of staff, raising up to £20 with each sale.

The workforce at the Bury St Edmunds store are so proud of their favourite recipes they compiled them in a booklet. They were sold at Glasswells stores across the region, for £3 each, raising £202 for the Accumulator Challenge.

A luxurious rug is also being raffled off in aid of the challenge. Entry - which is open to staff and customers - costs £1 and the draw will be made on 1 September.

The rug earmarked by the carpet, rugs and flooring department is contemporary in design, however the lucky winner will be able to choose from the rugs in store to find one, up to the value of £300, to suit their home.

And finally, staff member Tracy McCloskey made plenty of tasty cakes and sold them to customers at a Glasswells Warehouse Sale, in Kempson Way, Bury, raising £229.

Abby Mayes, Hospice Corporate Fundraiser, said: "It's great to see every area of the Glasswells workforce doing their bit for the Towergate Accumulator Challenge. I can't wait to see how much they'll have raised when the challenge finishes in September."
