Lights, Camera, Action!
Last Thursday the atrium in Ipswich was transformed into a mini Pinewood Studio with the filming of three new Glasswells television commercials.
The concept of each was to feature staff opposed to professional actors & models, building a room set around a feature dining set, sofa and divan; each lasting 20seconds.
As all budding film producers know, a professional film crew aim for 60 seconds of footage per day, so we knew that we were up against the clock!
‘Rig Day’ was scheduled for the day before when a set was built on site and all equipment checks were made.
Filming was scheduled to begin at 9am and due to time limitations, a deconstructed approach was decided. With no dry run, each room set had to be created ‘extempore’ but the adrenaline was flowing and every room-set fell together perfectly!
The day was hectic to say the least but by 6pm the director announced ‘That’s a wrap’ and the show room was returned to normality.
Special thanks go out to all our Glasswells models, namely Page Kaur, Karen Cossan, Stephen Hattersley, Kerry Tye, Paul Rundell, Nigel Gladwin, Chaneise Francis, Fabz Begum, Kirsha Dyer and Bobby-Rae Price whom were all wonderful.
The new commercials are due to air on ITV Boxing Day.
