Glasswells The Place to Eat Restaurant in Ipswich has again been awarded the full five stars for hygiene following a recent review by the Suffolk Authorities; this is their highest level of recognition that they award. The stars are awarded based on criteria such as food hygiene, cleanliness, structure and safety procedures/management.

Pat Retires After Over 30 Years and Will be Missed
After over 30 years we say goodbye to Pat who will be greatly missed by staff and customers alike having worked in the curtains and soft furnishings department since 1981. She was always keen to share her valuable knowledge about curtain making and all aspects of soft furnishings and was a real asset to the team. It was tense, competitive, yet fun - all in the name of charity!
17 teams entered the annual Glasswells staff quiz in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care last night. With eight rounds of testing questions across many subjects, the teams battled to claim the glory of scoring the highest. Congratulations go to 'The Furniture Foursome' who won after a tiebreak situation. However all teams are to be congratulated as we managed to raise £750.00 for the charity. Well done to all!

Glasswells Get Energetic for the Towergate Accumulator Challenge in Aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care
It was a lovely evening in Bury St Edmunds when staff from Glasswells got to together for a game rounders and petanque with drinks and a BBQ, all in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care. Competitive spirits showed themselves but only in the name of charity - we raised £332.

Glasswells Nominated for Employer of the Year Award
Staff are undertaking Retail Apprenticeship training with YMCA Training in Stowmarket. With differing levels from the equivalent to a GCSE (Level Two) and A Level (Level Three) the training requires hard work, dedication and essential support from the Glasswells management team. Nine members of staff are currently studying hard and it is going very well for all. As a result of working with YMCA Training, they have nominated us for their Employer of the Year Award recognising that Glasswells are very dedicated to staff development and recognising potential.

A Sporting Event
Following the Olympics the staff at the Bury Glasswells store are feeling quite energetic and decided to organise a rounders and petanque social evening in aid of the Towergate Accumulator Challenge in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care. Complete with BBQ and a big prize raffle, the evening promises to be fun filled and bound to bring out the competitive streaks in many. Proceeds from the £5 entry fee, bar, BBQ and raffle will go towards the Accumulator challenge.

Olympic Success for Glasswells Staff and St Nicholas Hospice Care
Glasswells Furniture Salesman Mark Noades got all revved up for the Olympics and ran a competition amongst Glasswells staff at the Bury St Edmunds store to raise money for the St Nicholas Hospice Care Towergate Accumulator Challenge. The competition was based on how many medals Team GB won at the Olympics. Each staff member paid £5 to enter and guessed the total number of medals which was multiplied to increase the number permutations we could achieve. The winner was the person nearest to the winning calculation and won prize money. However the excellent news is that Mark managed to raise £115 for the Challenge.

Glasswells Annual Bury 5 Race
It was a soggy evening in Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds where the annual Bury 5 Pacers race took place. The races are popular and despite them damp and chilly evening keen runners still turned up to support the event. There was a junior fun run, an under 9 category race, under 15 category 1 mile race and an adult 5 mile race. Each participant received a Glasswells branded t-shirt.
