Early tips on how to pick out furniture, carpets for their future homes were picked up by tots visiting Glasswells in Haverhill.

Under-5s at Stepping Stones pre-school group in Haverhill took a trip to the town centre and visited Glasswells furniture store and others in the town.

Elaine McManus, leader of the group, said 20 children went on the visit as part of their ‘houses and homes’ theme.

Elaine said: “We had a brilliant time. They tried out sofas in Glasswells and Gavin Hunt gave us a rug with a hopscotch pattern when we visited his shop. We looked at washing machines in Hughes, but they were more interested in the televisions.

“Some had never been on a bus before but they were really good for such young children.”
