Discover new skills through in-person, hands-on workshops led by a friendly professional local artist Helen Clarke. Join us at Glasswells for one of these relaxing, inspiring learning experiences.
About Helen Clarke
Working as an occupational therapist for the NHS, Helen has always had a passion for art, in particular natural subjects such as flowers. Attending local art classes to improve her talents and being inspired by a variety of artists, Helen was able to further improve her skills. She has experimented with a collage of materials to create showstopping pieces of art, with a special interest in designing cards in a variety of styles, several of which have been accepted by Artist's Cards.
Upon retiring, Helen was able to devote more time to painting, and decided to turn her attention to teaching prospective artists who shared her passion for art. Her artistic skills have enabled her to retail in outlets including Cambridge Contemporary Art, Saffron Walden Gallery, Barton, Cambridge Botanic Garden, as well as having many private clients.
Since 2001, Helen has participated in Cambridge Open Studios and exhibited in Oundle and Sudbury galleries, Cambridge Contemporary Art and in various group exhibitions.
For over 15 years, Helen has been teaching watercolour, both in her Summer House Studio and at various art groups in the Cambridge area, as well as being a tutor with Tindalls Art Shop in Newmarket and EJR Creative in Hasketon.

BOOK NOWSaturday 19th October
We will be painting beautiful leaves from life and learning different watercolour techniques in order to reveal their glowing colours. The addition of ink is an attractive way of defining leaf edges as winter approaches.
Saturday 16th November
Painting from life, we'll use watercolour in various ways, to show the beauty of seed heads and colourful berries with and without a background. Sepia ink will also be introduced, which is very effective for depicting berry stems and seed head shapes.
