We offer a click and collect service from this store, or Furniture items can be collected from our central warehouse, also in Bury St Edmunds.

Your order will be ready for collection from our stores the very next day, after 12pm, seven days a week.

Our delivery service runs Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm and is an efficient service by our specialist team. We also provide a two-hour time slot the day before your delivery.

The drivers not only will deliver your new furniture to your room of choice in an immaculate condition, but will take any packaging away with them, meaning you can enjoy your furniture as soon as it arrives.

Car Parking & Charging

Our Design Centre showcases hundreds of pattern books from leading fabric designers. With so much choice available, the area provides a comfortable and spacious place for you to relax and spend time matching colours and patterns.

Our fully trained and qualified interior designers can work from plans, architects’ drawings and space plans and can allow for integration with your smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Home, all at a reasonable design fee.

First, one of our interior designers will visit your home to discuss your needs, taking into consideration your timescale, budget and any other factors necessary. A design scheme will then be created and you will be asked to come into store so we can present you with the proposal, in which full costings will be calculated and delivery dates can be discussed in more detail.

When the weather permits, we offer alfresco seating to customers who can enjoy the summer breeze and sun whilst enjoying our deliciously home cooked delights.

Our fresh homemade baked treats are loved by so many customers, and our restaurant is a great place to catch up with friends. Our naughty but nice bakes include: our signature Scones, Cheesecake, Sponge Puddings, Carrot, Victoria or Lemon cakes, Brownies, Shortbread, fruit slices and so many more mouth-watering treats for you to try.

Eco-Friendly Investements

In 2013, our Bury St Edmunds store replaced 4,500 light fittings and bulbs with a switch to more energy efficient LED lighting and invested in a solar panel system, covering 20,000sq ft of roof space, in 2014. In 2022, an additional 410Kw solar panel system was installed on the roof.

During the summer periods we can generate enough electricity to run the buildings. These solar panels significantly reduce the amount of electricity Glasswells consumes from the national grid, benefitting the environment and reducing our Carbon Footprint over the next thirty years dramatically.

2021 involved replacing the air conditioning system at the Bury St Edmunds store. This provided a more economic and efficient cooling and heating system, which has reduced the use of gas for heating.

This is a significant investment which shows Glasswells’ commitment to continue minimising the environmental impacts of our business operations.

Low Emission Removal Trucks

In 2014, we started replacing our fleet of removal trucks, with six low emission, ultra-efficient DAF Euro 6 Removal trucks. The 15 ton HGVs can take up to five containers and have been specially developed for maximum transport efficiency, offering low operational costs, optimum vehicle performance and an even higher level of driver safety and comfort.

Environmentally, the new trucks satisfy the EU Directive on low emissions and, therefore, can be used to enter low-emission zones throughout Europe such as London and Paris.

As well as these large investments, the recycling of cardboard, plastic, mattresses, carpets and underlay is pursued at every opportunity.
