Discover the magic of Christmas at Glasswells. We are excited to be hosting a number of magical Christmas events for adults and children alike at our Bury and Ipswich stores this December. There will be a mini pantomime that will be staged at both our Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds stores, as well as children's entertainers, local choirs, and some exciting work shops offering table runner making and water colour painting and lots, lots more.
Water Colour Workshops at our Bury St Edmunds Store
WATER COLOUR WORKSHOPS WITH HELEN CLARKE
Discover new skills through in-person, hands-on workshops, led by a friendly, professional local artist, Helen Clarke. Join us in Glasswells for a relaxing and inspiring learning experience.
Come and discover the art of a watercolours, perhaps for pure pleasure or to satisfy your creative aspirations. Take part in our small, in-person workshops in store at Glasswells in Bury St Edmunds, where learning a new craft is a perfect stress-relieving remedy.
Both workshops are being held at our Bury St Edmunds store.
Saturday 19th October ('Autumn leaves' in Watercolour)
Saturday 16th November ('Winter Stems & Berries' Watercolour and ink)
Both sessions will commence from 10:30am – 1pm with a group of no more than 10 people per session.
All materials and refreshments are provided and the session is suitable for all levels of ability.

We will be painting beautiful leaves from life and learning different watercolour techniques in order to reveal their glowing colours. The addition of ink is an attractive way of defining leaf edges as winter approaches.

Painting from life, we'll use watercolour in various ways, to show the beauty of seed heads and colourful berries with and without a background. Sepia ink will also be used, which is very effective for depicting berry stems & seed heads.

A MINI PANTOMIME TO ENTERTAIN AND DELIGHT YOUR CHILDREN
We have chosen the greatest fairy tale of all time, Beauty & The Beast
This enthralling story follows the adventures of Beauty, a beautiful girl who finds herself imprisoned in the castle of a mysterious Beast. With the help of the castle’s enchanted housekeeper Dusty, a delightful romance develops between these two unlikely friends and Beauty soon learns the most important lesson of all, that true beauty comes from within.
A 75mins show packed solid with comedy, songs, adventure and audience participation, you’ll find the children cheering along to the comedy antics of Dusty & Beauty and booing the mischievous Ferero Rocher.
