Bury St Edmunds

Contracts Manager | Full Time 

We are looking for an experienced Contract Flooring Manager to head up our team of 20 people, including surveyors and flooring fitters, with an annual turnover in excess of £2 million. Working across the East of England, Glasswells supplies and installs contract flooring into new build housing developments, hotels, schools and hospitals.

You must be capable of performing all aspects of the role from day one. You will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, liaising with clients and contractors on site, and show that you can plan, control and execute jobs to completion, on time, in a safe way and to budget.

Surveying and estimating skills for all types of flooring and carpet installations are essential, along with a full driving license. You will be confident using Microsoft Office and full training will be given for our in-house sales, stock and accounting system. We use the Masterpiece estimating system and experience of working with this would be useful, but not essential.

Glasswells also supplies and installs contract furniture, curtains and blinds, an area which we would like you to expand.

Hours are 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday, or the required hours to get the job done, and salary will be based on experience (£35k – £45k OTE). Other benefits include a company car, group pension, staff discount and discretionary bonuses based on company and personal performance.

Receptionist | Part Time | Alternate Weekends 

We are looking for a confident and friendly person to join our Reception team at our busy store in Bury St Edmunds, working alternate weekends (Saturday 9.00am – 6.00pm and Sunday 10.30am – 4.30pm). This varied role includes dealing with customer enquiries in store, over the telephone and online, processing orders on our in-house computer system, taking payments and handling cash, arranging deliveries, plus general administrative duties. A good level of I.T. skills are required.

Catering Assistant | Part Time

Part time catering assistant (permanent). Job will include working alternate Sundays, and applicants must be flexible with working hours. You will be required to work as part of a small team in a busy restaurant. Duties will include taking customers orders, clearing tables and processing payments through the till.
