Junior Graphic Designer | Full Time

Glasswells is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join our in-house marketing team. This full-time role is ideal for a recent graphic design graduate looking to develop their skills within a busy retail environment. You will be responsible for creating a range of design assets, including digital adverts, email campaigns, web graphics, in-store point-of-sale materials, brochures, signage and press advertising. The role also involves supporting other marketing and design projects as needed.

The right candidate will have a degree in Graphic Design, be confident using Adobe Creative Suite and show a good understanding of visual communication. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are important. An interest or some experience in video editing, photography or digital marketing would be helpful but not essential. This role offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in a design role at a long-established, family-run home retailer.

Soft Furnishings Sales Advisor | Full Time

Glasswells is the biggest home department store in East Anglia, with shops in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Haverhill, and Saffron Walden. We offer a wide range of quality home furnishings and flooring products to our customers across East Anglia.

We have an opening in our busy Soft Furnishings Department, at Bury St Edmunds, for a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Adviser.

This is a full-time position, working five days per week on a rota basis. The position will require you to work alternate weekends, and some bank holidays throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will have:

· Great customer service skills.

· The ability to maximise personal sales to meet and exceed individual targets.

· The ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.

· A creative flair and an eye for colour.

· An interest in interior design.

In addition:

· Previous experience of ‘made to measure curtains’ would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

· Greeting and assisting customers in store with their selection of and matching of colours and fabrics for curtains, blinds, and accessories.

· Answering and following up on instore, phone and website enquiries.

· Preparing quotations

· Taking orders in person and over the phone.

· Maximising add-on sales.

· Using the company sales programme to process and progress orders. Full training will be given on our company systems and procedures.

· Maintaining showroom standards, keeping the department tidy and appealing.

This is a part-time position, working three days per week (3 days x 7.5 hours) on a rota basis. The position will require you to work alternate weekends, and some bank holidays throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will:

•    Be confident, flexible and approachable with a cheerful and willing attitude to assist our valued customers.

This is a part-time position, working three days per week on a rota basis. The position will require you to work alternate weekends, and some bank holidays throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A full driving licence as you will be required to conduct some customer home visits and attend training sessions at our Bury St Edmunds store.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of ‘made to measure’ curtains, bespoke curtains, window shutters and blinds and the many matching accessories available to complete the look.
